How to Disable Windows Live Messenger

Your windows XP operating system comes with a pre-installed windows live messenger formerly known as windows messenger. If for some reasons you do not need your windows live messenger, you can disable it at any time. Here is the step-by-step instruction on disabling windows live messenger from your system.

Step 1: Click on your start button. The start button is the green button at the bottom left of the screen with the windows logo on it.
Step 2: Click on run. As the run box appears, go to the open field and type in "services.msc". Hit "ok" or you may also press enter in your keyboard.
Step 3: After hitting "ok" or pressing enter in your keyboard, a list of programs will appear. Look for windows live messenger. Click windows live messenger twice.
Step 4: It will then ask for the 'startup type'. Choose disabled.
Step 5: Click on "stop" to complete disabling windows live messenger.
